Judge Recommends Coordination of California’s DePuy Pinnacle Cases in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco Superior Court Judge Richard A. Kramer has recommended to the Judicial Council of California that the state’s DePuy (NYSE: JNJ) Pinnacle hip implant cases be coordinated in a single proceeding and assigned to the San Francisco court.

Judge Kramer, who was asked in May 2011 to review plaintiffs’ petition to coordinate, filed his recommendation Sept. 13.

The judge concluded that the Pinnacle cases should not be coordinated as add-ons to the DePuy ASR hip implant system cases, which are coordinated in the same court before Judge Kramer (In re: DePuy ASR Hip System Cases, JCCP …
