J&J Moves to Prevent Deposition of CEO Gorsky in DePuy ASR Implant Case

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Defendants in a DePuy ASR hip implant case have asked a Maryland judge for a protective order to prevent plaintiffs from engaging in a “fishing expedition” by attempting to depose Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky.

Johnson & Johnson and subsidiary DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. filed for a protective order Sept. 4 along with their opposition to the motion to compel submitted by Moira Jackson and her co-plaintiffs in the case pending in Prince George’s County (Md.) Circuit Court.

The court has not scheduled a hearing or issued a decision on Jackson’s motion to compel.
