LOS ANGELES - A California federal judge has granted the makers of a cranial implant summary judgment in an injury case, ruling that without expert testimony, the plaintiff cannot prove the implant caused her injury. Sanchez v. Stryker Corp., et al., No. 2:10-8832 (C.D. Calif.).

On May 2, Judge Otis D. Wright II of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California held that the failure of plaintiff's counsel to file expert witness reports on time prejudiced defendants, therefore the expert testimony must be excluded.
