Judge in Pinnacle MDL Sets Hourly Rate for Special Master and Staff

DALLAS - The federal judge assigned to the DePuy Pinnacle Hip Implant proceedings has supplemented a Jan. 9 order appointing a special master by setting his compensation at $595 per hour and dividing costs equally between plaintiffs and defendants. Judge James "Ed" Kinkeade also set compensation rates for the special master's staff April 30, saying he was adopting procedures followed in other multidistrict litigation proceedings.
