Court Finds No Evidence Stryker Implant was 'Unreasonably Dangerous'

BATON ROUGE, La. - A federal court has granted Stryker Corp.'s motion for summary judgment in a hip implant case after concluding that the plaintiff failed to offer evidence that the product was unreasonably dangerous under Louisiana's Product Liability Act. Phillips v. Stryker Corp., No. 11-62-SCR (M.D. La.).

Magistrate Judge Stephen C. Reidlinger of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana issued his ruling April 20, while also rejecting plaintiff Michelle Phillips' motion to stay pending completing of a medical review of her allegations.
