Zimmer Reiterates Arguments for Limiting Scope of NexGen Knee Implant MDL

CHICAGO — Zimmer Inc. has replied to plaintiffs’ opposition to a defense motion to remand certain NexGen knee implant cases that six of the 14 plaintiffs named in its motion have shown they agree that the claims are outside the scope of the MDL by stipulating to remand or dismissing their cases outright. In re: Zimmer NexGen Knee Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2172 (N.D. Ill.).
Zimmer also noted in its May 14 reply brief that it has withdrawn its remand request in three cases based on additional information provided by plaintiffs, leaving the disposition of only five cases …
