LONDON, Ky. - A Kentucky woman has sued the maker of Pradaxa, alleging that her husband's ingestion of the blood thinner caused him to suffer a gastrointestinal bleed that led to his death. Cornelius v. Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc., et al., No. 12-64 (E.D. Ken.).
The March 28 complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, accuses Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc. of failing to adequately warn doctors and the public that Pradaxa can cause irreversible bleeds.
