SAN FRANCISCO - Plaintiffs in two recent California cases allege that Biomet Orthopedics' M2a Magnum hip systems failed because of poor design, causing the release of cobalt and chromium and the destruction of surrounding tissue and bone. Ching v. Biomet Orthopedics, LLC, et al., No. 12-cv-0502; Winningham v. Biomet Orthopedics, LLC, et al., No. 3:12-cv-0503 (N.D. Calif.).
The two lawsuits against Biomet Orthopedics LLC, Biomet Inc. and Biomet LLC were filed Jan. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
