Wyeth Updates Labels
Accompanying Hormone Replacement Products
Wyeth, the manufacturer of Prempro, Premarin and Premphase, issued a letter to healthcare professionals to inform them of recent changes to the warning labels accompanying its line of hormone replacement products.
The new safety information was included to reflect the results of the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) study, which revealed that women taking estrogen plus progestin products were at an increased risk for breast cancer, thromboembolism, heart attack and stroke.
