JPML Will Consider Objections to Hip and Knee MDL Transfers at March Meeting

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation's schedule for its March 29 meeting in San Diego includes more than a dozen hip and knee implant cases in which plaintiffs or defendants oppose transfer to an MDL.

The JPML will consider motions to vacate conditional transfer orders in 11 hip implant cases brought against DePuy Orthopaedics Inc., and motions by Zimmer Inc. to vacate similar consolidation orders in four NexGen knee implant cases.

The cases were included in the Schedule of Matters for Hearing Session, Section B issued on Feb. 13.

Opposition motions will be reviewed without argument …
