WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has transferred three pelvic surgical mesh multidistrict litigations to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. In re American Medical Systems Inc. Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation, et al., MDL Nos. 2325, 2326 and 2327 (JPML).
In a Feb. 7 order, the panel ruled that centralization of the 144 actions, pending against American Medical Systems Inc., Boston Scientific Corp. and Ethicon Inc., would eliminate duplicative discovery and prevent inconsistent pretrial rulings.
