Court Dismisses Zimmer Retiree's Suit Alleging Implant-Related Investment Losses

INDIANAPOLIS - A federal judge has dismissed a former Zimmer employee's lawsuit over losses to a savings and investment plan he blamed on company officials' failure to acknowledge potential fallout from lawsuits over hip and knee implant devices. DeWald v. Zimmer Holdings, Inc., et al., No. 1:09-cv-00745-SEB-DML (S.D. Ind.).
U.S. District Judge Sara Evans Barker dismissed Jonathon M. DeWald's putative class action on Dec. 23, although it was without prejudice, leaving him the option of filing again.
