WASHINGTON, D.C. - The plaintiffs in numerous pelvic repair device actions brought against American Medical Systems Inc., Ethicon Inc. and Boston Scientific Corp. have asked the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to transfer their cases to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia for coordinated and/or consolidated proceedings. In re AMS Vaginal Surgical Mesh Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2325 (JPML).
The actions at issue in the three Nov. 28 motions involve surgical mesh products used for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse or stress urinary continence.
