Article: "Diabetes Increases the Risk of Acute Hepatic Failure"

Summary: A cohort study designed to assess the occurrence of acute liver failure in patients with diabetes. Patients were excluded from the study if they were diagnosed with concomitant liver disease as far back as 1980. After excluding the first year of follow-up, the patients were observed for the occurrence of liver failure through 2000 with cumulative risk and relative risk determined by Kaplan-Meier and Cox Proportional Hazard survival analysis, respectively.
