WASHINGTON, D.C. - A petition has been filed to create a coordinated multidistrict litigation docket for all federal cases alleging injury caused by diabetes drug Actos. In re Actos Product Liability Litigation, No. 2299 (JPML).
The Aug. 31 motion to transfer 11 actions pending against Takeda Pharmaceuticals America Inc. in three federal courts and all subsequent Actos injury actions to a single judge for pretrial proceedings was filed with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. Plaintiffs Glen and Nina Weant asked that a coordinated docket be established in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
