New Suit Says Crestor Causes Heart Attacks, Diabetes

SAN FRANCISCO - A couple have sued the maker and distributor of Crestor in California state court, accusing them of concealing serious side-effects allegedly caused by the cholesterol-lowering drug. Parker, et ux. v. AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP, No. CGC-11-512571 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).

The July 18 complaint, filed in the San Francisco County Superior Court, accuses AstraZeneca Phamaceuticals LP and McKesson Corp. of failing to disclose that the drug can cause cardiomyopathy, heart attacks, kidney and liver damage and diabetes.
