Jury Finds in Favor of Wyeth In HRT Breast Cancer Case

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A West Virginia federal jury has returned a verdict in favor of Wyeth and its subsidiaries, finding that hormone replacement treatment drugs did not cause a woman to develop breast cancer. Hines v. Wyeth, No. 04-690 (S.D. W.Va.).
In the July 28 verdict, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia jury answered "no" to the question of whether Leah Royce Hines proved by a preponderance of the evidence that Premarin and Prempro proximately caused her breast cancer..
