Judge in Pinnacle Hip Implant MDL Delays Naming Counsel to Committees

DALLAS - The federal judge overseeing the DePuy Pinnacle Hip Implant MDL addressed mostly procedural matters in his first case management order but declined to approve specific committees or assignments proposed by plaintiffs' counsel, at least before an initial pretrial conference. In re: DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. Pinnacle Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 3:11-MD-2244-K (N.D. Texas).

U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade filed Case Management Order #1 in the recently created MDL on June 29, saying that some of the same issues, regarding electronic filing and communication procedures, will be discussed at the initial pretrial conference on Aug. 9.
