NEW ORLEANS - A federal judge has adopted a magistrate judge's recommendation that summary judgment be granted to GlaxoSmithKline in a Paxil wrongful death case, ruling that the plaintiff failed to present medical testimony establishing a causal relationship between the drug and his son's suicide. Autery v. GlaxoSmithKline, No. 05-0982 (W.D. La.).
On May 12, Judge Rebecca F. Doherty of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana adopted Magistrate Judge C. Michael Hill's finding that the plaintiff failed to demonstrate that he could carry his burden of proving specific causation at trial.
