JPML Orders Darvon/Darvocet Parties to Show Cause for Centralization

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has ordered the parties in 18 Darvon/Darvocet actions filed in 10 states to show cause as to whether the cases should be centralized for consolidated pretrial proceedings. In re Darvocet, Darvon and Propoxyphene Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2226 (JPML).
In an April 11 order, the panel also ordered the parties to show cause as to which federal district court is the appropriate forum for these proceedings. The parties are required to respond to the order by May 16.
