State Judge Coordinates California DePuy Hip Implant Cases

SAN FRANCISCO - A California state judge has granted plaintiffs' petitions to coordinate pending and future California state court cases alleging injury caused by the recalled DePuy ASR Hip Implant. DePuy ASR Hip System Cases, JCCP No. 4649 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Francisco Cty.).

On March 2, Judge Richard A. Kramer of San Francisco County Superior Court agreed to coordinate approximately 40 hip implant cases that have been filed throughout the state since July 2010. Judge Kramer referred the matter to judicial council for assignment.

A Judicial Council Coordination Proceeding number, 4649, has already been assigned to the cases. According …
