Hormone Replacement Suit Transferred to Maryland Federal Court

MINNEAPOLIS - A Minnesota federal judge has transferred a Premarin breast cancer case to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, ruling that Minnesota has no connection to the suit. Fisher v. Wyeth, et al., No. 04-3107 (D. Minn.).

On Feb. 28, Judge David S. Doty of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota further ruled that judicial economy favors Maryland.

Caryl Fisher, a Maryland citizen, allegedly ingested Premarin, Provera and Medroxyprogesterone from 1989 until 1995. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994 and, in July 2004, she sued Wyeth, Pharmacia & Upjohn Co., Greenstone …
