CHICAGO - Two Illinois residents have filed a proposed class action against the maker of Darvocet, alleging that the drug maker continued to market the recalled painkiller despite knowing that it could cause serious abnormal heart rhythms. Ceja, et al. v. Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals Inc., No. 11-427 (N.D. Ill.).
In a Jan. 20 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Veronica Ceja and Daniel Garza II claim that as a result of taking Darvocet, they suffered chest pains, experienced vertigo, dizziness, nausea and vomiting and had severe headaches and problems breathing.
