CHICAGO- Attorneys for Northwestern University filed a third-party complaint against the manufacturers of three dietary supplement products claiming they caused football player Rashidi Wheeler to suffer a fatal asthma attack during conditioning drills late last summer. Estate of Rashidi Wheeler v. Northwestern University, et al., 01L10149 (Ill. Cir. Co. Cook Cty.).

The complaint, filed April 3 in Cook County Circuit Court, names Next Proteins, Inc., Cytodyne Technologies, Inc., The Ultimate Orange Energy, Co., and General Nutrition Companies Inc. as third-party defendants in a case initially filed against the university.
