CLEVELAND - A new suit filed in Ohio federal court accuses GE Healthcare of failing to warn the public that its gadolinium-based contrast agent causes nephrogenic systemic fibrosis in patients with impaired kidneys. _Ziebarth v. GE Healthcare Inc., _No. 08-50000, MDL No. 1909 (N.D. Ohio).
The Dec. 7 complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, says GE also failed to adequately test the safety of its galodinium-based contrast agents and did not inform the public of safer alternatives.
