CHICAGO - An Indiana woman has filed a class action lawsuit against the manufacturers of Meridia in an effort to have it pulled from the market and have users compensated for personal injuries or deaths associated with the prescription weight loss drug. Cardwell, et al v. Abbott Laboratories, et al., 1:02cvd2183 (N.D. Ill.).
Cardell filed the class action March 28 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the drug's manufacturers and distributors. According to the complaint, Cardell took 10 mg of Meridia from January 28, 2001 through February 3 and claims to suffer from …
