MINNEAPOLIS - A Minneapolis federal judge has excluded the proposed testimony of two experts who planned to opine that Premarin can cause breast cancer in the general population. In re Prempro Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 4:03-1507 and Nos. 06-3112, 06-3120, 06-3123 (D. Minn.).
In an Aug. 30 order, Judge Ann Montgomery of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota ruled that the experts' opinions are not backed by statistically reliable data and are undermined by a clinical study that found no connection between estrogen-only forms of hormone replacement therapy (EHRT) and breast cancer.
