WILMINGTON, Del. - After excluding the medical causation testimony of plaintiff's expert Dr. Loren W. Greene, a Delaware state judge has granted AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP summary judgment on Seroquel injury claims. Hopkins v. AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP, No. 06C-01-325, Del. Super., New Castle Co.).
Judge Joseph R. Slights III of the New Castle County Superior Court ruled that the expert failed to rule out other causes of plaintiff's diabetes, including chronic morbid obesity, ethnicity and family history.
