WASHINGTON - A lawsuit filed against Eli Lilly in federal district court in Washington alleges that the plaintiff's birth defects were caused by her mother's ingestion of the drug DES during her pregnancy. Dean v. Eli Lilly and Co. w/s/o CT Corp., No. 1:02cv00177 (D. D.C.).
The Feb. 1 complaint seeks $2 million in compensatory damages resulting from various injuries suffered by plaintiff Ellen Dean as a result of her embryonic exposure to DES.
