WILMINGTON, Del. - A Delaware state judge has granted summary judgment to AstraZeneca on claims that Seroquel caused a woman to contract Type II diabetes, ruling that the plaintiff's expert report and deposition did not meet Daubert standards. Jones v. AstraZeneca, et al., No. 07C-01-420 (Del. Super., New Castle Co.).
On March 31, Judge Joseph R. Slights III of the New Castle County Superior Court ruled that the record is devoid of any competent evidence that plaintiff's exposure to the antidepressant was the proximate cause of her alleged injuries.
