Judge Tosses Fraud, Misrepresentation Claims Against Plavix Makers

TRENTON, N.J. - A New Jersey federal judge has dismissed state law fraud and negligent misrepresentation claims brought against Bristol Meyers Squibb-Co. and Sanofi-Aventis U.S. Inc. in connection with their marketing and sale of the anti-blood clotting drug Plavix. Street v. Bristol-Meyers Squibb Co., et al., Nos. 3:07-cv-1182, 3:07-cv-1184, 3:07-cv-1188, 3:07-cv-1180 and 3:07-cv-1186 (D. N.J.).
In a Dec. 30 order, Judge Freda L. Wolfson of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey ruled that the claims, brought under Ohio state law, were inadequately pled.
