Class Action Plaintiffs Submit Petition to Create Serzone MDL

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Plaintiffs in a federal class action lawsuit filed against the manufacturers of the anti-depressant Serzone have submitted a petition before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation asking it to consolidate and transfer similar cases to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. According to the April 19 motion filed by the plaintiffs in Chermaie, et al. v. Bristol Myers Squibb Co., No. 02-910(E.D. La.), the creation of a Serzone MDL would allow cases to be treated more efficiently and expeditiously by reducing duplicative discovery and conserving judicial …
