TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - A final judgment rendered in favor of an Accutane plaintiff was reversed by a Florida appeals court, which found that the plaintiff failed to establish that an inadequate drug label was the proximate cause of his inflammatory bowel disease. Hoffman-La Roche Inc., et al. v. Mason, No. 1D08-2032 (Fla. App., 1st Dist.).
Florida's 1st District Court of Appeal ruled Oct. 27 that the trial court erred in denying Hoffman La-Roche Inc.'s motion for a directed verdict after a jury handed down a $7 million verdict in favor of the plaintiff.
