Jury Awards $18 Million to 2 of 4 Plaintiffs in Accutane Case

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A jury has handed down an $18 million verdict in an Accutane injury case, finding that Hoffmann La-Roche Inc. and Roche Laboratories failed to warn of the risk of ulcerative colitis posed by the acne drug. In re Accutane Litigation, No. ATL-L-2644-03 (N.J. Super. Ct., Atlantic Cty.).

On June 29, the jury, overseen by Atlantic County (N.J.) Superior Court Judge Carol Higbee, awarded two of the four plaintiffs $9 million in compensatory damages.
