WASHINGTON, D.C -The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has transferred all federal actions alleging injury caused by the oral contraceptives Yaz and Yasmin to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. In re Trasylol Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1928 (JPML).
The Oct. 1 order sends to Benton, Ill., 32 actions claiming that the drugs can cause "severe and permanent personal injuries," including blood clots, stroke, heart attacks and gall bladder disease necessitating removal.
