NEW ORLEANS - A Louisiana federal judge has cut in half the costs awarded GlaxoSmithKline after it prevailed in a lawsuit brought by the heirs of a man who committed suicide after allegedly taking Paxil. Allgood v. GlaxoSmithKline PLC, No. 06-3506 (E.D. La.).
Finding that the plaintiffs brought the suit in good faith, Judge Eldon E. Fallon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on Aug. 25 reduced the $15,075 awarded Glaxo to $7,538.
