Plaintiffs File Motion for the Creation of Meridia MDL

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Plaintiffs in a federal class action filed on behalf of those who were prescribed the diet drug Meridia have moved to centralize all similar claims filed throughout the country against the drug's manufacturer and distributors. In re: Meridia Product Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. n/a, (JPMDL).

In a petition filed May 13 before the Judicial Panel for Multidistrict Litigation, the lead plaintiff in a recent class action filed in Illinois urged the creation of a Meridia MDL docket in either U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois or the District of New Jersey.
