Ga. Court Approves Costs for Biomet in Successful Defense of Hip Implant Suit

VALDOSTA, Ga. — A federal judge has approved deposition and copying costs sought by Biomet Inc. in its successful defense of a metal-on-metal hip implant action. Sumner, et ux. v. Biomet, Inc., No. 7:0•-cv-98 (M.D. Ga.).

Senior Judge Hugh Lawson of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia granted plaintiffs’ motion, in part, in denying some reimbursements sought by Biomet, but ordered June 20 that plaintiffs Elizabeth L. and Ray G. Sumner pay costs to the defendant of $7,592.22.
