MILWAUKEE - A Wisconsin federal judge has denied GlaxoSmithKline summary judgment in a Paxil personal injury action, ruling that the plaintiffs created a genuine issue of material fact as to whether Paxil can be linked to suicidal thoughts in adult patients. Forst, et ux. v. GlaxoSmithKline, No. 07-612 (E.D. Wis.).
In a March 11 order, Judge J.P. Stadtmueller of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin also ruled that genuine issues of material fact exist as to whether GSK adequately warned doctors and patients of Paxil's possible adverse side effects.
