TROY, Mich. - An administrative assistant who claimed that she was unable to find comparable work after leaving a job because of mold contamination was entitled to disability benefits because of the mold's effects on her preexisting asthma, a Michigan court has ruled. Leonard v. Wayne State University, No. 273129 (Mich. Ct. App.).
Michigan's Court of Appeals denied an appeal by Wayne State University in an unpublished opinion on Aug. 5, holding that there was sufficient evidence to support Karen Leonard's contention that she was unable to find work because of workplace restrictions related to her medical condition.
