DOVER, Del. - A Delaware trial judge has denied a homeowner's motion for a new trial on claims against a home inspector, saying defense counsel's statements about plaintiffs' settlement with a prior owner were not prejudicial. Atwell, et al. v. RHIS Inc., et al., No. 02C-12-003WLW (Del. Super. Ct., Kent Cty.).
The revised order denying Tina A. Atwell's motion for a new trial was issued on April 16 by Kent County (Del.) Superior Court Judge William L. Witham Jr., who presided over the trial that resulted in a verdict for home inspector RHIS Inc. (d/b/a Reliable Home Inspection Service).
