Kansas Suspends Lawyer Accused of Unlicensed Practice in Minnesota

TOPEKA, Kan. - The Kansas Supreme Court has suspended Diane Lynn Hillbrant from the practice of law because of her unlicensed efforts to represent Minnesota homeowners in disputes over alleged mold contamination. In the Matter of Diane Lynn Hillbrant, No. 99,691 (Kan. Sup. Ct.).

The Supreme Court noted that although Hillbrant was admitted to the bar in Kansas in 1984, she has apparently not practiced law in that state and is, instead, a pharmacist.

Hillbrant was convicted in Minnesota in April 2005 of five counts of unauthorized practice of law, which is a criminal offense under Minn. Stat. § …
