MINEOLA, N.Y. - A New York trial court has dismissed a home improvement contractor's employees and insurance broker from a lawsuit brought by homeowners who say faulty workmanship led to water leaks and mold. Lacava v. F.H.R. Contractors, Inc., et al., No. 35339/06 (N.Y. Sup., Suffolk Cty.).

Justice Arthur G. Pitts of the Suffolk County (N.Y.) Supreme Court ruled Feb. 6 that the insurance brokers' only duty was to the insured and that plaintiffs James and Christine Lacava failed to raised a triable issue with respect to a salesman, secretary or other individuals other than the owner of F.H.R.
