NEW YORK - A New York court has granted an infant plaintiff leave to add property management defendants to a personal injury lawsuit but denied as untimely an effort by the child's mother to file a claim on her own behalf. Ortega v. Elge Associates, No. 26680/06 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., N.Y. Cty.).
New York Supreme Court Justice David Elliott said in his Dec. 14 order that the motion to add defendants was unopposed and that the statutory time period for the plaintiff to add other causes of action, which is tolled during the period of infancy, has not expired.
