WACO, Texas - A petition was filed Nov. 21 in McLennan County District Court alleging that exposure to mold growth in a Waco apartment caused potentially permanent personal injuries, including neurological problems, to a student residing there. James W. Thornton v. Sterling Housing, L.L.C., et al., No. 2001-3562-3 (Texas Dist. Ct., 74th Jud. Dist., McLennan Cty.).
According to the petition, plaintiff James Thornton suffered and continues to suffer injuries such as 'headaches, memory loss, shortness of breath, generalized anxiety and inability to concentrate' as a result of exposure to 'toxic mold' in his Sterling University Parks apartment.
