Arizona Jury Awards $608,000 to Homeowners for Property Claim, Nothing for Alleged Personal Injuries

PHOENIX - Arizona plaintiffs prevailed Nov. 27 in the property damage portion of their water- and mold-related case against the construction company and concrete contractor responsible for building their Arrowhead Lakes homes. Armand Rivera, et al. v. Thomas Brown, et al, No. CV2000-016075 (Ariz. Super. Ct., Maricopa Cty.).
The jury found in favor of the plaintiffs for claims of property damage due to water infiltration and mold contamination. However, the jury did not award any damages on behalf of the plaintiffs' complaints of medical problems stemming from exposure to the mold.
