Article: "Arthrographis Kalrae Causing Invasive Lung Disease: A Case of Building-Related Illness?"
Summary: This case report describes a 30-year-old, previously healthy woman who complained of progressive shortness of breath, cough, rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, fatigue and weight loss. She also noted that her 15-month-old twins experienced recurrent upper respiratory infections and had been hospitalized with Respiratory Syntitial Virus. Her father-in-law, who lived with her, was experiencing increased symptoms of his already existing asthma. A biopsy of the woman's lung found multiple granulomas, consistent with infection, and fungal culture grew Arthrographis kalrae, a rare saprophytic soil fungus. Testing …
