ic Iendict is well known that insurance policies are adhesion contracts. In almost all cases, there is no negotiation between the parties entering into the contract. Furthermore, few significant differences exist between competing policy forms resulting in virtually no alternatives for the insurance consumer. Insurance companies have all the leverage at the inception of the relationship and enjoy far more resources to defend a claim than the insured has to prosecute the claim when a loss occurs.
