EPA Settles with Remediation Firm Over Fungicide Labeling

LOS ANGELES - American Mold Guard Inc., a California mold remediation company, has agreed to pay $11,700 to settle a claim by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that the mold remediation firm distributed samples of a fungicide without federally mandated warning labels.
The EPA alleged in February that American Mold distributed two-ounce sample bottles of AMG-X40 (zoonicide), a registered bacteriostat, fungicide and algaecide, without including manufacturer's warnings against skin contact or directions for first aid as required by the Federal Pesticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).
