Louisiana Appeals Court Affirms Judgment Regarding Mold-Contaminated Vehicle

NEW ORLEANS - The Louisiana Court of Appeal has affirmed a lower court's judgment in the case of a flood-damaged Cadillac sedan that became contaminated with mold. Rich v. Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and Sewell Cadillac Chevrolet, Inc., No. 2000-CA-1482 (La. Ct. App., 4th Cir.).
According to the Oct. 10 decision, the trial court acted within its discretion when it awarded Jack and Rose Rich $8,591.21 for the repair and replacement of the car's mold-contaminated seats, along with car rental and towing costs.
